Paying the Bills

I have been working all summer, trying to save up enough money for my study abroad. I was very fortunate to land a job as soon as I got home from BYU. I was assigned to work in the customer service department of a large company called Bond Manufacturing. The idea of customer service did not thrill me, as I imagined hours of yelling customers. But, taking into consideration the unstable economy and overwhelming unemployment rates, I gratefully accepted the position. That job offer was an incredible blessing.

When arrived to work on the first day, all of the other employees were very friendly and welcoming. They took a genuine interest in my hobbies and interests, and they were eager to get to know me. As a temporary employee, it's not often that you are warmly accepted into an office family. One day, a co-worker asked me what I am studying at BYU. I replied, "I am a French major." The office exploded with exclamations of "Perfect!" and "Well, what do you know?" I had not been aware of it before, but Bond Manufacturing does a lot of work in Canada, and they were looking for help with French consumer calls and emails.

Amazing.

So, let the customers yell and complain! I'll be in Paris before I know it. Thank you, Bond Manufacturing family, for a fun summer. I have learned a lot about assembling barbecues. :)
